In 2019, China celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic. It was also on the brink of declaring the eradication of absolute poverty.

But then December 2019 saw the outbreak of Covid-19. The world was suddenly a very different place.

China on the Move explores two fascinating questions from China, both with global significance – how can the battle against poverty be won and what are the economic solutions to enable recovery from Covid-19? The presenters, Cameron Andersen and Jenny Cortes Ybañez, travel across the country to meet people overcoming the exceptional challenges that are mirrored across the world.   

From remote mountain villages to bustling megacities, sweeping deserts to lush plantations, this series brings together stories from high-tech innovation to historical craft, personal sacrifice, entrepreneurship and resilience.
